Repurposed Paper File from Thrift Store

As a new teacher I will spend a decent amount of my own money trying to set up and prepare my classroom. That being said, me and my friend Ally took off for the thrift stores and Hobby Lobby in town.
One of the DIY finds I stumbled upon was this red plastic paper organizer from St. Vincent's! For only $2 I was in love with the product but not the color....
While at Hobby Lobby I picked up a can of metallic Sparking Canyon spray paint to give it some shine and color more like the scheme I already have.
To prep my paper holding I dusted and wiped it off with all purpose cleaner. Outside I set it on a cardboard box I had from a delivery so I didn't get it on the ground since I live in an apartment complex.

With that I had my Krylon Color Master spray paint and a glove incase of drips.
Following the directions on the can, I sprayed the plastic with two thin layers so everything was even and opaque. However, it was very difficult to keep it even when working on the insides of the dividers because the angle was not open and consistent.
The paint took about 10 minutes to dry before I brought it inside and took a look at the finished product!!

Though there are some drippy looking parts on the inside dividers, I am very happy with how it turned out for only $2!!
Make sure to be on the look out for more DIY and classroom set up posts and videos to come!!
