Once I graduated from college I realized how unhealthy my lifestyle had become. With my boyfriend also seeking a better way or becoming healthy again, I decided to hop on a gym membership at Capital Fitness in Madison. Though the price was a little bit more than I was wanting to pay, the benefits outweighed my financial insecurity.
Each day a class schedule is posted which you can sign up for 24-1 hour(s) before through the app MINDBODY. The options are limitless with different types of yoga, cycling, group fitness, Zumba, and Ju Jitsu. In addition, there are two floors of cardio and weight machines and free weights. With two women's locker rooms come lockers, steam showers, sauna, and restroom facilities. Around the front desk on the second floor you have the option for a cafe or smoothie bar, but make sure to bring your own mug for the free coffee!
Because I registered before the end of June I received a $50 gift card to Salon and Spa on the fourth floor. Upon sign up you also recieve a water bottle or coffe thermos, t-shit, and draw string bag.
My 1 year membership will cost me $55 a month in addition to the $50 one time sign-up fee I paid. Comparatively I found this to be a good price because I would be spending more paying $10 a month for Planet Fitness and dropping into different fitness classes at studios in the area which average at $17 a class. Additionally, if I were to tan anywhere else that would be another $25 a month.
Overall, my first impressions of their facilities were amazing. Though I just got in a quick workout to start my day, I look forward to waking up, throwing on my new Nike Free tennis shoes ($55 at Nordstrom Rack),

grabbing my Adidas gym bag ($33 at Nordstrom Rack),

and heading to a cycling class which starts at 5:45 AM!
